Academic activity

Since 2008 Inguna has been working at the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art (FEPA) of the University of Latvia (UL) in the professional bachelor study program “Art”, (elected as an assistant professor in 2018); since 2020 also in the professional bachelor's study program "Teacher" and in the master's study program "Technology Innovation and Design for Education". Inguna Karlsone is the secretary of the study council of the study field "Art", a member of the FEPA Research Ethics Commission.

8 study courses have been developed for programs related to the training of professional designers and teachers. Teaches courses: Basics of Architecture (I-IV), Universal Design, Research Practice II, Professional Practice in Design (I-III) - in the professional bachelor's study program "Art"; Environmental design design I, Environmental design design II - in the professional bachelor study program “Teacher”; Universal design in the educational environment - in the master's study program "Technological innovations and design for education".

Creative activity

Participated in the exhibitions of creative works of the lecturers of UL FEPA, Daugavpils University and Rēzekne Academy of Technology "Butterfly Effect" 12/02 / 2020-12 / 03/2020 and "Near" 12/02 / 2019-18 / 03/2019 in Riga.
Within the framework of the architect's practice, more than 30 new construction and reconstruction projects of residential houses in Latvia have been developed.

Outside the academic room

Since 1992 - a member of the Latvian Architects' Union and a certified architect.
