The first year of the project DiversAsia: Embracing Inclusive Practices in Support of Diversity in Asia is nearing completion. Although the 11 partners of the project never managed to meet in person due to the current epidemiological situation, significant work was done in the first year, which will facilitate the further implementation of the project and the achievement of its goals.

The autumn period in terms of the project was spent on collected examples of good practice in inclusive education in higher education from around the world. In total, more than 240 good practices have been compiled and the project partners are set to further develop concrete recommendations to facilitate the transfer of these practices to higher education institutions in India and Bangladesh. The results of the analysis of good practices will also help in the further tasks of the project, to develop a set of methodologies for the partners of Asian member states, the introduction of a universal teaching method in Asian higher education, inclusive education.

Alongside the collection of good practices, an extensive survey of Asian educators and administrative staff has been launched with the aim of finding out the current situation in the field of inclusive education. It is planned that the survey will end in the first quarter of 2022.

In October 2021, the second, transnational project meeting of the DiversAsia project took place with all partners to report on what has been done so far and to discuss what is to be done in the near future. The project partners held the meeting remotely, but have high hopes to meet in person as early as February next year.
