In January 2024, researchers from the University of Latvia's (UL) Pedagogy Institute, alongside partners from five additional countries, participated in a face-to-face meeting for the "Integrating Virtual and Augmented Reality in Higher Education Curricula" project. This initiative aims to improve the expertise of higher education staff in virtual and augmented reality technologies, ensuring their effective incorporation into teaching methods. The meeting focused on reviewing the project's progress and strategizing for its successful completion.

Within this project, the UL Institute of Pedagogy's researchers had the chance to partake in specialized training in Rhodes, Greece. This training included learning about practical tools that educators can use to create their own virtual reality content or enhance existing materials for augmented reality applications. This newly acquired knowledge was then passed on to our faculty, enabling them to explore immersive technologies. A key outcome of the project is the development of an educational program designed to deepen understanding of virtual and augmented reality technologies and explore how they can be integrated into higher education: https://www.vr-in-he.eu/result-3_e-learning-platform/
